6th month of pregnancy: how is it going?

During this sixth month of pregnancy, your belly is round and Baby, him, wakes slowly to the world ... What should be monitored during this period? Where is the development of Baby? What does the future mother feel? We take stock.

Difficulty sleeping, digestive disorders, muscle and joint pain ... For the future mother, this sixth month of pregnancy is not necessarily a sinecure! But on the side of Baby, the progress is dazzling: he reacts to the sounds, he caresses the belly of Mom, he observes his environment ... In short, he is eager to rub the world. Patience, childbirth, it's coming soon ...

Your belly is now round! Baby's weight (about 560 g around 23 weeks of pregnancy) causes a forward imbalance: to compensate, you walk in duck, dig your back and bend your shoulders. Wearing a pregnancy belt can be recommended - also choose comfortable clothes and shoes.

The growth of Baby (and the pressure on your stomach that causes it) also causes digestive disorders: you may suffer from acid regurgitation. Insomnia is becoming more and more common: Baby moves a lot ... even at night! To avoid: sleeping pills in self-medication.

At the beginning of the 24th week of pregnancy (26th SA), Baby measures 30 cm from the head to the heels and weighs about 650 g.

In his brain, all the circuits are connected: curious, he discovers the sense of touch (caressing the uterine wall, for example), he reacts to the sounds (the voice of Mom calm him, the unpleasant noises annoy him), he pedal with enthusiasm or listen carefully ... Better: he is now able to open his eyes to observe the world around him!

Around the 23rd week of pregnancy, baby needs a lot of iron to make his stock of red blood cells. And if your diet is not rich enough iron, Baby will draw on your reserves ... which can cause anemia more or less severe on your side.
